Quezon City public school benefits from Maynilad Lingkod Eskwela

Around 4,000 students from Lucas Pascual Elementary School in Baesa, Quezon City became the latest beneficiaries of Maynilad’s Lingkod Eskwela program – Maynilad’s socio-civic initiative wherein the water concessionaire installs a drinking and washing station on public schools and extends technical assistance to the school in fixing their internal plumbing system.

The Lingkod Eskuwela program aims to promote good health through proper hygiene in campuses by providing access to clean and potable water to students.  In 2009, Maynilad successfully implemented the program in 30 public elementary and high schools in the West Zone.

Lingkod Eskuwela is part of the comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility program of Maynilad.  The water company’s mission is to contribute to community development by helping establishments such as public markets, hospitals and barangay halls improve their water supply.

Leading the ceremonial ribbon cutting for the school’s new drink and wash area are (L-R) Rotary International District 3780 Governor Dulce Coyukiat, QC Health Office-Sanitation Chief Rowell Romulo, Maynilad Corporate Social Responsibility head Nerissa Jose, Maynilad president Rogelio L. Singson, and School Principal Adela Salvador joined by other school officials.
