Maynilad wins int’l award for green initiatives

West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. was hailed as one of the "Top Green Companies in Asia" during the Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability (ACES) Awards 2016 held recently in Singapore.
 
The ACES Awards, organized by Malaysian-based MORS Group, is a prestigious award that recognizes Asia’s finest corporate leaders and companies in the areas of leadership and corporate social responsibility.
 
Maynilad was given the “Top Green Companies in Asia” award this year, along with four other companies from Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines. The award is given to companies that operate with minimal negative impact on the environment, community, and society while remaining financially viable.
 
“We are very pleased to have won this award, as it validates the effectiveness of our programs to become a good environmental citizen,” said Maynilad President and CEO Ramoncito S. Fernandez.
 
Maynilad is the largest private water concessionaire in the Philippines in terms of customer base. It is the agent and contractor of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) for the West Zone of the Greater Manila Area, which is composed of the cities of Manila (certain portions), Quezon City (certain portions), Makati (west of South Super Highway), Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon all in Metro Manila; the cities of Cavite, Bacoor and Imus, and the towns of Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario, all in Cavite Province.
