West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) sent four water tankers, complete with drivers and mechanics, last Friday to Tacloban, Leyte. With holding capacities of 10 cubic meters each, the water tankers were deployed to help the local water district in Tacloban City deliver clean water to its customers. While the water treatment plant of the Tacloban Water District is operational, portions of its distribution network remain damaged, effectively cutting off water supply in certain areas. Maynilad also sent a 600 kVA generator through the United Nations Children\’s Fund (UNICEF) to help the local water utility with its plant operations.
