MAYNILAD WATER SERVICE UPDATE (November 21, 2020, 11:30 a.m.)

As of yesterday, the water production of our La Mesa Treatment Plants has stabilized at 2,000 million liters per day (MLD), as turbidity in the raw water coming from Ipo Dam remains steady at just below 300 NTU.

The 2,000-MLD production is still below the normal output of 2,300 MLD because the clearing of accumulated sludge from our facilities’ basins is still ongoing. Nonetheless, this is enough for us to maintain the rotational service interruption schedules that were put in place to ensure that all customers receive water supply daily despite the limited supply.

Meanwhile, severely affected areas (i.e., those in highly elevated portions of oconcession area) are also being assisted with mobile water tanker delivery services, which we have reinforced with the help of the LGU and local fire bureau.

Clearing operations in our facilities are still on track. Barring the possibility of another spike in the raw water turbidity at Ipo Dam, we expect to complete the removal of sludge from all of the basins by Nov. 24, 2020. Updates will be provided as they come.
