MAYNILAD WATER SERVICE UPDATE

At 7 a.m. earlier, we had to reduce the production of our La Mesa Treatment Plants in Quezon City, as the turbidity of the raw water coming from Ipo Dam increased due to the strong rains brought on by Typhoon Ulysses. The reduction, done to ensure that the quality of water our customers receive will be maintained, also led to low water pressure and emergency service interruptions in some areas.

Our water production will be maintained at reduced levels until the turbidity decreases to manageable levels. Meantime, we are constrained to implement service interruptions daily. Affected areas include Bulacan, Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela, Quezon City, Manila, Makati, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, and parts of Cavite.

The specific service interruption schedule per area will be posted on our social media accounts shortly.

The duration of the service interruptions will gradually shorten as the turbidity dissipates. Meantime, affected customers are advised to store water when supply is available. Our mobile water tankers are also doing the rounds of the affected areas to deliver potable water.

Please expect some discoloration in the water supply following the resumption of service. Should this happen, let water flow from your faucet briefly until the water clears.

We are constantly monitoring the water quality in Ipo Dam even as we conduct system adjustments to optimize the limited supply. We apologize for the inconvenience.
