MAYNILAD WATER SERVICE ADVISORY (April 15, 2018, Sunday)
Despite talks with the MWSS and Manila Water last Friday (April 13) on appropriate raw water allocations, the amount of raw water that entered Maynilad’s La Mesa Treatment Plants yesterday is still less than what it is entitled to receive.
Until Maynilad is given its appropriate raw water allocation, it will not be able to bring water supply for its customers to normal levels. Maynilad has been receiving less than its 60% share since April 1, causing its stored water to plunge.
Given the limited supply that our treatment plants received yesterday, stored water at our Bagbag Reservoir will only last until 6 p.m. tonight. Hence, the same Maynilad customers who have been experiencing daily service interruptions since April 12 will again have low water pressure to no water supply tonight, April 15, at 7 p.m., until 4 a.m. the following day, April 16 (Monday). Below is the list of affected areas.
Maynilad is currently reviewing existing protocols on the raw water sharing with Manila Water so it can propose changes that will prevent this same situation from recurring. Meanwhile, it is appealing to the MWSS to have Manila Water restore Maynilad’s 60% share so it can refill the Bagbag Reservoir and stabilize water service for its customers.
We will announce different schedules of service interruptions on a daily basis until this issue is settled with Manila Water.
Customers affected by the daily service interruptions are advised to store water during times of the day when supply is available. Maynilad has water tankers on standby, ready to deliver water upon request. We apologize for the inconvenience.
