MAYNILAD WATER SERVICE ADVISORY (April 14, 2018, Saturday)
As of yesterday, April 13 (Friday), Maynilad’s La Mesa Treatment Plants still received less than its proper allocation of raw water supply. Maynilad is entitled to receive 60% of raw water but it has been getting less since April 1 (Sunday), and this resulted to a significant drop in the company’s stored water.
Given this situation, Maynilad is constrained to implement daily service interruptions, which will affect some portions of its concession area. Interruption schedules will be announced on a daily basis, as the schedule will be determined by the amount of raw water that our La Mesa Treatment Plants are able to receive.
Today, April 14 (Saturday), the same Maynilad customers who were affected by the service interruptions since April 12 because of this issue will experience low water pressure to no water supply starting 3 p.m. today until 4 a.m. tomorrow, April 15 (Sunday). Below is the list of affected areas.
We will issue another advisory if a different schedule has to be implemented tomorrow.
Maynilad is constantly monitoring the level of raw water entering our treatment facilities. Once Manila Water is finally able to restore Maynilad’s 60% of raw water, Maynilad can start refilling its Bagbag Reservoir and gradually bring water supply back to normal levels. The pressure build-up will take another three to four days before the supply stabilizes in the affected areas.
Affected customers are advised to store water during times of the day when supply is available. Maynilad has water tankers on standby, ready to deliver water upon request.
Maynilad is committed to protect the well-being of its customers. We will continue to engage with the relevant stakeholders so we can provide water supply at the service levels that our customers need.
