Maynilad Water Academy (MWA), the education arm of West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad), was recently cited by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) as a credible private institution offering highly technical and specialized training courses on water and wastewater management.
In a letter dated January 16, 2018, CSC Civil Service Institute Executive Director IV Arthur Luis P. Florentin affirmed that the completion of MWA courses shall be recognized as training hours, which can be added in the Personal Data Sheet of participating government employees, especially those from the water districts, and used in pursuit of job promotion.
MWA training courses on water supply operations, non-revenue water management, and wastewater management, among others, are designed to help water professionals improve service levels for their customers.
“This commendation from the Civil Service Institute reinforces the Maynilad Water Academy’s bid to become the thought leader in water and sanitation. The Maynilad Water Academy will continue to develop more structured capacity-building programs and new water technologies that can help to enhance the skills of water industry professionals here and abroad,” said Maynilad President and CEO Ramoncito S. Fernandez.
Since its establishment in 2011, the MWA has created an environment for learning and bench-marking of best practices in water, sanitation and hygiene in the Philippines and across the world.
