Maynilad supports run to revive Pasig River

Maynilad, the private water concessionaire for the West Zone, showed its support to save Pasig River by participating in the recent 2009 Philippine International Marathon with the theme “Run for Pasig.”

The much-anticipated running event aims to raise funds and awareness on the Kapit Bisig para sa Ilog Pasig project led by the ABS-CBN Foundation and Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).  Maynilad put up drinking stations strategically located along the course of the 3-km, 5-km, 10-km and 42-km race categories for the hydration needs of over 21,000 runners.

Maynilad is among the private institutions that pledged support to the Kapit Bisig project through a five-year sewerage and sanitation plan that includes the upgrading of its sewerage facilitaties in Manila and an intensified septage-collection and treatment program for unsewered customers.  In the photo, runners crowd the Maynilad drinking station in Quirino Grandstand to get potable water.
