Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) took part in the Brigada Eskwela 2020 program of the Department of Education (DepEd) by donating sanitation supplies and refurbished computers to 14 public school districts in the West Concession area.
Maynilad donated 10 refurbished desktop computers to Ramon Magsaysay High School in Manila, to be used by the teachers as they conduct classes through the distance learning method. Fifteen computer tablets were also turned over to the Schools Division Office of Caloocan City to be distributed to indigent students. In addition, the water company distributed 1,878 one-gallon bottles of liquid hand soaps and disinfectants, and over 4,800 washable face masks to various schools.
“We sought to provide some of the top items in the ‘wish list’ of DepEd for this school year, which are computers for distance learning and sanitation supplies. Besides these donations, Maynilad will continue to help DepEd strengthen its W.A.S.H. (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) programs in schools through sustained water education among the youth,†said Maynilad President and CEO Ramoncito S. Fernandez, adding that Maynilad sustains the giving of other relief donations during the pandemic, in partnership with its sister companies under Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan.
