West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad), in partnership with the Philippine Association of Water Districts (PAWD) and Baguio Water District (BWD), conducted a water management training for 40 Luzon-based water district managers.
The two-day seminar-workshop focused on water management operations, as well as on the relevant laws, policies, and procedures for addressing water and sanitation issues. During the event, participants shared best practices, and also discussed the emerging operational and climate challenges that hound the sector so they can arrive at solutions.
“We are happy to have been given the chance to conduct this important activity, as knowledge sharing and benchmarking among water industry practitioners are particularly vital now that water operations in the country face new challenges,†Maynilad Water Academy Executive Director Engr. Rodora N. Gamboa said.
The Maynilad Water Academy seeks to create an environment for learning and bench-marking of best practices in water, sanitation and hygiene in the Philippines and across the world. It was previously cited by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) as a credible private institution offering highly technical and specialized training courses on water and wastewater management.
