Maynilad mentors water districts

Metro Pacific Investments Corporation and DMCI Holdings Inc. – led Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) recently entered Non-Revenue Water (NRW) Management Twinning Partnerships with the Bacolod City Water District, Leyte Metro Water District and San Pedro Water District. Under the Twinning Partnership, Maynilad will share its technical expertise and processes for reducing water losses.

The West Zone concessionaire and its partner water districts will also carry out a series of trainings and consultations to help develop results-oriented strategies to lower NRW.

In 2006, prior to the takeover of Metro Pacific and DMCI, Maynilad had an average NRW level of 68%. As of September 2010, the water company’s average NRW level was at 54.2%.
