West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) celebrated clean hands to mark the 7th Global Handwashing Day. This was done through the holding of its Daloy Dunong program for about 1,400 students in seven schools in Caloocan, Quezon City, Imus, and Cavite City.
Through its Daloy Dunong Program, Maynilad encourages the youth to actively participate in fun and meaningful activities that will increase their appreciation of water, health and the environment.
Maynilad is an active partner of the United Nations Children’s Fund and the Global Public-Private Partnership for Handwashing with Soap in the observance of the Global Handwashing Day, which is held every October 15. The event is celebrated in over 100 countries by 200 million people.

The promotion of handwashing cuts diarrheal rates among children by half, as it prevents the transmission of pathogens that can lead to disease and child deaths.
