West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) and the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) held a joint implementation of their respective water education programs, Daloy Dunong and Buhay KYUT, in celebration of Earth Day 2017.
Maynilad President and CEO Ramoncito S. Fernandez and LWUA Acting Administrator Jeci A. Lapus led the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the event, which involved Earth Day art workshops, exhibits, and other fun activities that exposed children-participants to the values of water, hygiene, and sanitation.
In the same event, Fernandez turned over to Lapus copies of the K-12 water education modules “Water: Nature’s Precious Gift†that Maynilad and UP NISMED (University of the Philippines-National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development) produced to serve as supplementary teaching tools on water and wastewater education.
