The Philippine General Hospital sought the aid of Maynilad, the private water concessionaire for the West Zone, in its efforts to locate underground and concealed leaks in the hospital’s aged internal pipe system. Through a technical assistance agreement facilitated by Maynilad’s Key Accounts Management, the Maynilad leak detection team will be using for this purpose the same modern leak detection methods and technology utilized for the company’s water loss management program in the West Zone. Aside from addressing the high water loss level in the hospital, the elimination of leaks will contribute to improved water pressure and quality for the health and sanitation of PGH patients and staff. In the photo, PGH Director Carmelo A. Alfiler, M.D. (third from left) reviews with Maynilad officials the leak detection activities that will be done in the hospital.
