Maynilad lays pipes in Bacoor subdivisions

West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) has begun laying some 33 kilometers of secondary pipes in several subdivisions along Molino Road, Mambog Road, Niog Road, and Tirona Road in Bacoor, Cavite. This is in line with the company’s commitment to expand its water service coverage in its Cavite service areas. The ₱225-million pipe expansion project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013.

Once energized, the new pipes will provide safe, potable water to around 7,000 households from Soldier Hills Phases 1, 2, 3 and 4 in Molino; and Rosewood, Kimberton Ville Garden Town Villas 1 and 2 in Niog, and Shapel 1 in Habay.

Maynilad also plans to spend an additional ₱37 million to lay 6 kilometers of secondary pipelines in South Susana, Green Point, BF Topman, Villa Maria, Town and Country, and New Better Landscape all in Bacoor, by the end of the year. This project will enable the water company to provide 2,000 customers in the said subdivisions with 24-hour water supply, at a minimum pressure of 7 pounds per square inch.

“Over 1 million people in our Cavite service areas still do not have access to safe, reliable, potable water from Maynilad. We are doing everything we can to connect them to our distribution network,” said by Maynilad president and CEO Ricky P. Vargas.

To minimize traffic and inconvenience in the project areas, Maynilad is closely coordinating with the Department of Public Works and Highways, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, and local government of Bacoor City. The work sites are also fully enclosed with board-up barricades, with appropriate lighting and traffic/warning signs to ensure public safety. Motorists and pedestrians passing through the sites are likewise reminded to strictly observe traffic rules and road safety regulations.

Maynilad is the largest private water concessionaire in the Philippines in terms of customer base.  It is the concessionaire of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) for the West Zone of the Greater Manila Area, which is composed of the cities of Manila (all but portions of San Andres & Sta.Ana), Quezon City (west of San Juan River, West Avenue, EDSA, Congressional, Mindanao Avenue, the northern part starting from the Districts of the Holy Spirit & Batasan Hills), Makati (west of South Super Highway), Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabonall in Metro Manila; the cities of Cavite, Bacoor, and Imus, the towns of Kawit, Noveleta, and Rosario, all in Cavite Province.
