The event also saw the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) among the city, Maynilad, and the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) to rehabilitate Laguna Lake by planting trees and establish nurseries for mangrove species propagation along its shoreline.
During the event, some 500 camachile and putat trees were planted in the area by 150 volunteers. This reforestation project aims to minimize sedimentation and siltation in Laguna Lake and to clean seven tributary rivers in Muntinlupa.
Maynilad’s Plant for Life project will be planting 60,000 trees and 15,000 mangroves in various areas this 2017.
