Maynilad, the private water concessionaire for the West Zone, took part in the recent coastal clean-up activity led by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) along the shore of Manila Bay in Brgy. San Dionisio, Parañaque City.
True to the company’s commitment to protect and preserve the environment, Maynilad employees teamed up with close to 5,000 volunteers from the youth, public, and private sectors to clear the mounds of garbage along the said portion of Manila Bay coastline — home to more than 40 species of migratory birds.
Aside from helping clean the shore, Maynilad also put up a water station for the hydration requirements of the volunteers.
The event was organized in celebration of the 24th International Coastal Clean-up, during which coastline clearing initiatives are held all over the world.
