West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) recently inaugurated its P1.7-billion sewage treatment plant in Parañaque City, which is part of the company’s long-term investment plan to improve the wastewater infrastructure and reduce pollution loading in Manila Bay.

The Parañaque Water Reclamation Facility is Maynilad’s 22nd wastewater treatment facility and is currently its biggest in terms of capacity. It can treat about 76 million liters of wastewater per day, and serve over 500,000 people in Parañaque City. It is also the first large-scale, Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR)-compliant wastewater treatment facility in the country.
