Maynilad HR gets ISO certification

The Human Resources Division (HRD) of West Zone concessionaire, Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) recently passed the certification audit of TUV Rheinland Philippines, Inc. for ISO 9001:2008—the international standard for Quality Management System.

The ISO 9001:2008 certification helps ensure that customers get consistent, good quality products and services. It also proves that Maynilad is committed to empower its employees for excellence so they can continuously provide world-class services to their customers.

“The certification granted by TUV Rheinland Philippines shows that our employees and their work ethics are truly commendable, which means we can manage facilities and preserve customer relationships in ways that can be a benchmark for international water practices,” said Maynilad President and CEO Ricky P. Vargas.

Maynilad recently won three Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) “Secretary’s Awards of Distinction” at the 8th Gawad Kaligtasan at Kalusugan (GKK) Awards. The GKK is awarded by the DOLE, through its Occupational Safety and Health Center, to institutions and individuals for their exemplary contributions in responding to the safety and health needs of workers, workplaces, and community.

DOLE recognized Maynilad’s La Mesa Treatment Plant 1 and Tondo Sewage Pumping Plant under the Institutional Category. Meanwhile, the water company’s Head of Safety, Engr. Conrad Soriano, was recognized at the Individual Category.

Besides the ISO 9001:2008 certification of its HRD, Maynilad also holds ISO certifications in Quality, Environment, and Safety and Health Management Systems for its vital facilities, namely La Mesa Treatment Plants 1 and 2, Dagat-Dagatan Sewage and Septage Treatment Plant, Tondo Sewage Pumping Plant, North Caloocan Business Area, and Water Network including its accompanying pipelines and seven pumping stations.
