Maynilad holds plant tours for 180 gov’t officials

In line with efforts to accelerate its wastewater management program, West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) recently organized a series of plant tours for some 180 public officials from the national and local government.

This Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) initiative aims to increase knowledge and awareness among public officials on the sanitation (desludging) services and wastewater operations of Maynilad.

Maynilad’s wastewater management program aims to lessen pollution load into river systems, in compliance with the Supreme Court Continuing Mandamus to clean up, rehabilitate, and preserve Manila Bay. The support of the public sector is important in facilitating the process of constructing sewage treatment plants and conveyance systems, as well as in requiring their constituents to avail of Maynilad’s desludging services.

Previous plant tours were also conducted for the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, some LGUs’ Manila Bay Task Force, and Cavite Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office.
