In line with its goal of promoting better sanitation, West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. (Maynilad) recently organized the first-ever Golden Kubeta Awards—a social media contest that recognizes the best public restrooms in the Philippines.
The Golden Kubeta Awards aim to promote the importance of toilets in personal hygiene and health. Since its launch in November 2016, over 100 entries were submitted to the contest. Three restrooms from select establishments were declared winners, based on their cleanliness, accessibility, functionality and responsible water and wastewater management: Petron Gas Station in Quezon City (1st place), Park N’ Ride in Manila (2nd place) and De La Salle University in Manila (3rd place).
