Maynilad executive presents before global water loss experts

Maynilad Head of Central Non-Revenue Water (CNRW), Irineo L. Dimaano, recently presented a paper on “Embarking on the World’s Largest NRW Management Project,” to about 600 water loss experts from 45 countries at the International Water Association (IWA) Water Loss 2010 conference at Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Before DMCI-MPIC Water Company, Inc. (DMWCI), a joint venture between Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC) and DMCI Holdings, Inc. (DMCIHI) took control of Maynilad on 2007, the NRW level in the West Zone was at a high 69%.  As of June 2010, non-revenue water (or systems loss) in the West Zone is down to 52.8%.  Less than three years under new management, Maynilad was able to drive down the West Zone’s systems loss level to the lowest in its history.

The IWA Water Loss 2010 conference enabled experts in the field of water loss reduction and management and officials from different water utilities and companies in the world to discuss the latest developments, strategies, techniques and applications of international best practices in all aspects of water loss assessment and control.

The IWA Water Loss conference has become the benchmark for water loss professionals worldwide — making it the number one international event on water losses.
