Maynilad energizes primary line in Cavite

Metro Pacific and DMCI-led Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) recently energized a segment of its newly laid primary line along Tirona Highway in Bacoor, Cavite, increasing water availability and pressure for over 24,300 households, while connecting some 1,200 new accounts in the area. The remaining portion of the primary lines is scheduled for energization by May 2012.

The P345-million service expansion project involved the laying of over 3 kilometers of mainlines from Aguinaldo Highway corner SM Bacoor to Binakayan Bridge in Kawit, and over 14 kilometers of smaller pipes.

Among the areas that have benefited from the energized primary line are Perpetual, Santero 1 and 2, Sta. Lucia, Philippine Acres and Silver Homes in Bacoor, as well as households and establishments along Tirona Highway.

“The primary line along Tirona Highway serves as the mainline connecting households in Cavite to surface water that comes all the way from Angat Dam in Bulacan. We are working double time to fast-track its completion so that we can expand services further down south,” said Maynilad President and CEO Ricky P. Vargas.

Maynilad is the largest concessionaire in the Philippines in terms of customer base. It is a concessionaire of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System for the West Zone of the Greater Manila Area, which is composed of the cities of Manila (all but portions of San Andres & Sta Ana), Quezon City (west of San Juan River, West Avenue, EDSA, Congressional, Mindanao Avenue, the northern part starting from the Districts of the Holy Spirit & Batasan Hills), Makati (west of South Super Highway), Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon all in Metro Manila; Cavite City, and the towns of Bacoor, Imus, Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario, all in Cavite Province.
