Maynilad earns ISO certification for business continuity systems

West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) recently secured an ISO certification in Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS) from international auditing and certification body TUV Rheinland Philippines.

The ISO 22301:2012 certification speaks of the water company’s sustainability, operational resiliency and recovery in the event of a disaster. It proves that Maynilad has an effective system in ensuring the sustained delivery and restoration of water service to customers during emergencies and calamity situations.

The audit results further show that Maynilad adheres to its Business Continuity Plan, which specifies procedures for managing disruptive incidents and restoring normal operation.

“We understand how important it is for our customers to have water supply even during times of disaster. Attaining this ISO certification affirms that our operations can immediately recover from calamities, and that our BCMS is aligned with international best practices,” said Maynilad President and CEO Ramoncito S. Fernandez.

Maynilad is the largest private water concessionaire in the Philippines in terms of customer base.  It is the concessionaire of the MWSS for the West Zone of the Greater Manila Area, which is composed of the cities of Manila (certain portions), Quezon City (certain portions), Makati (certain portions), Caloocan, Pasay, Paranaque, Las Pinas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon all in Metro Manila; Cavite City, and the towns of Bacoor, Imus, Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario, all in Cavite Province.
