Maynilad donates water for Typhoon Lando survivors

West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) helped in Typhoon Lando relief efforts by providing safe, drinking water for some 3,400 families from different provinces.

The company brought donations of drinking water packed in over 6,000 units of varied-sized containers (1-liter bottles, and 1-gallon and 5-gallon jugs) to some areas of Isabela, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Benguet, Pangasinan, Pampanga and Quezon Province.

In addition, Maynilad donated 2,000 pieces of galvanized iron sheets for the typhoon-stricken families in General Nakar, Quezon Province, to use in the restoration of their homes.

“Being a water service provider, it is incumbent upon us to help meet the immediate need for potable water among disaster survivors. This is a role we have embraced, and it is in line with our corporate value of ‘love for country’,” said Maynilad President and CEO Ricky P. Vargas.

This Typhoon Lando relief effort was done together with the Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Department of Social Welfare and Development-National Resource and Operation Center, Philex Group Foundation, Inc., Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System, and the Non-Governmental Organization International Citizen Service.
