West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) yesterday turned over 10,000 units of bottled drinking water to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to help the victims of the Bohol earthquake. Prior to the turnover, Maynilad also sent 400 pieces of five-gallon containers, 500 pieces of 1.5-liter containers, and 4,000 pieces of 1-liter containers with potable water to Bohol, through the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
Last week’s earthquake damaged the power and water lines of various barangays in the region, severely limiting the access of residents and evacuees to potable water.
