  • Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) is the water and wastewater services provider for the West Zone of the Greater Metro Manila area. It is the largest water concessionaire in terms of customer base in the Philippines.

  • Maynilad is managed by Maynilad Water Holding Company, Inc., which is owned and operated by Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), DMCI Holdings Inc. (DMCI), and Marubeni Corporation. The MPIC-DMCI consortium took control of Maynilad on January 24, 2007.

  • Under the Revised Concession Agreement signed on May 18, 2021, Maynilad is no longer just an agent and contractor of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) but also a public utility (PU). To formalize its classification as PU, Maynilad applied for a franchise in Congress.

  • On December 10, 2021, Republic Act 11600 granting Maynilad the franchise to operate until 2046 was signed into law.

  • Maynilad’s concession area covers a total of 540 square kilometers. It includes the cities of Manila (certain portions), Quezon City (certain portions), Makati (west of South Super Highway), Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and, Malabon, all in Metro Manila; the cities of Cavite, Bacoor and Imus, and the towns of Kawit, Noveleta, and Rosario, all in Cavite Province.

  • Maynilad operates and maintains 5 water treatment plants, 23 wastewater plants, 38 pumping stations, 37 reservoirs, and 35 in-line boosters; and has laid 6,125 kilometers of water pipelines since 2007, bringing the total of water pipelines laid to 10,778 kilometers.

  • Maynilad’s customer base has expanded to 1,522,992 billed service connections or about 10 million people.

  • After launching one of the largest and most ambitious NRW reduction programs in Asia, Maynilad successfully brought down its non-revenue water (NRW) level to 32% as of end of December 2022.
