In its recently concluded Gawad Kaligtasan, Kalusugan at Kapaligiran (GKKK) Awards, Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) was commended by Department of Health Assistant Secretary Dr. Eric Tayag for its commitment to occupational safety and health.
“Maipagmamalaki namin kayo sapagkat ang kaligtasan ay pangunahing adhikain ng Maynilad. Hindi lahat ng organisasyon ay may ganitong uring minimithi kaya kayo ay bukod tangi dito sa ating bansa. Sana nga lang…matularan pa kayo ng maraming organisasyon. (We are proud of Maynilad for having occupational safety as one of its primary advocacies. Not all organizations in the country prioritize this. We wish that more organizations would follow your example),” said Dr. Tayag who served as keynote speaker during the GKKK Awards.
The 8th GKKK Awards aims to recognize the outstanding performance of Maynilad employees and business partners in promoting workplace health and safety. The Maynilad GKKK Awards is undertaken with the Department of Labor and Employment’s Occupational Health and Safety Center and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ National Capital Region-Environmental Management Bureau.
Maynilad is the largest private water concessionaire in the Philippines in terms of customer base. It is the concessionaire of the MWSS for the West Zone of the Greater Manila Area, which is composed of the cities of Manila (certain portions), Quezon City (certain portions), Makati (west of South Super Highway), Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon all in Metro Manila; the cities of Cavite, Bacoor and Imus, and the towns of Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario, all in Cavite Province.
