Maynilad earns ISO recertification for business continuity

West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) was recently awarded an ISO recertification in Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS) from international auditing and certification body TUV Rheinland Philippines.

The ISO 22301:2019 recertification confirms that Maynilad has established an effective system on water provision that complies with international standards. It speaks of the water company’s sustainability and operational resiliency in the event of a disaster, pandemic, and technical and security-related emergencies.

“Calamities could severely hamper the continued provision of water supply to customers, hence we have established a system that would ensure quick operational recovery during such instances. Maynilad’s recertification in this ISO standard confirms that our BCMS is aligned with global best practices,” said Maynilad President and CEO Ramoncito S. Fernandez.

Maynilad is the largest private water concessionaire in the Philippines in terms of customer base. It is the concessionaire of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) for the West Zone of the Greater Manila Area, which is composed of the cities of Manila (certain portions), Quezon City (certain portions), Makati (west of South Super Highway), Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon all in Metro Manila; the cities of Cavite, Bacoor and Imus, and the towns of Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario, all in Cavite Province.
