MAYNILAD WATER SERVICE UPDATE (November 13, 2020, 4 p.m.)

The turbidity level of the raw water from Ipo Dam entering our La Mesa Treatment Plants has improved from an unprecedented high of 6,000 NTU yesterday at the height of Typhoon Ulysses to only 60.80 NTU as of 2 p.m. today. This is still above the usual turbidity level of 10 to 15 NTU. Nonetheless, we have already started ramping up the production of our La Mesa Treatment Plants.

The increased water production will enable us to fill up our reservoirs for the next two days, and the daily service interruptions that currently affect around 70% of our customer base will gradually shorten over the period. Per our latest estimate, water service should return to normal by Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020.

In the interim, we are sustaining the delivery of potable water via mobile tankers to help mitigate the impact of the reduced production.

Please expect some discoloration in the water supply following the resumption of service. Should this happen, let water flow briefly from your faucet until the water clears.
