As of 11 p.m. yesterday, Aug. 16, turbidity (or concentration of sediments) in the raw water from Ipo Dam has decreased to manageable levels. This enabled us to increase water production of our La Mesa Treatment Plants.
Maynilad is therefore lifting the implementation of the rotational water availability schedules today. We have also commenced the filling up of reservoirs so that supply will be enough to meet the weekend water requirements of our customers.
However, given that erratic weather patterns can bring strong rainfall over the Ipo watershed and cause the turbidity to increase again, we advise our customers to keep some stored water to ensure that they have stock for their daily needs should circumstances constrain us to again reduce production owing to increased turbidity.
We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding.
