Beauty queen turns Water Warrior

2013 Ms. Earth Philippines candidate Jillian Kristin Deveza was recently awarded as Ms. Maynilad Water Warrior, after the Lipa City beauty was adjudged as being the most knowledgeable in water resources and the environment at large in her group.

In honor of Deveza’s victory, Maynilad will plant 1,000 trees under her name. A tree will also be planted for each of the pageant’s candidates to signify their commitment to take on the challenge of being a genuine Maynilad Water Warrior.

Last April, Maynilad sponsored a tour of its Lamesa facility.  The water utility was able to ingrain a deeper appreciation in the contestants about water treatment and actual delivery of water to each and every household.

Maynilad is the largest private water concessionaire in the Philippines in terms of customer base.  It is a concessionaire of the MWSS for the West Zone of the Greater Manila Area, which is composed of the cities of Manila (all but portions of San Andres & Sta. Ana), Quezon City (west of San Juan River, West Avenue, EDSA, Congressional, Mindanao Avenue, the northern part starting from the Districts of the Holy Spirit & Batasan Hills), Makati (west of South Super Highway), Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon, all in Metro Manila; the cities of Cavite, Bacoor and Imus, and the towns of Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario, all in Cavite Province.
