Maynilad reaches out to Baseco, Commonwealth residents

Maynilad, the private water concessionaire for the West Zone, provided marginalized residents in Baseco, Manila and Commonwealth, Quezon City with a steady supply of drinking water in the recent PGMA “Serbisyo Muna Caravan.” The water company also set up a helpdesk and education booth to address customer inquiries regarding its services.

Since 2008, Maynilad has participated in 30 PGMA Caravans, providing 90,000 indigent families with clean drinking water. The caravan brings free goods and medical-dental services to the most underserved communities across the country.

Maynilad recently filed its application for a 15-year term extension for its Concession Agreement with the government. According to Maynilad president Rogelio L. Singson, “West Zone customers stand to benefit from this extension because an extended term will allow us to expand our pro-poor and community development projects. We can also reduce future water rate increases by as much as 75%.”
